- "John Winter" is a pseudonym. When he started running endurance
- races, he did not want his family to find out. This was a moot point
- once he'd won Le Mans and had his picture published world-wide, but he

- The most common V8 design is 2.65 litres, turbocharged to 45" Hg
- absolute (about 1.5 bar), dual overhead cams, 4 valves per cylinder.
- There used to be a two-valve pushrod formula up to 6 litres normally
- aspirated, I think this was discontinued several years ago in the name
- of cost reduction. The two-valve pushrod V6 formula allows more turbo
- boost, and I believe the displacement limit is 3.4 litres.
