- McLaren usually do NOT give guaranteed #1 status for any drivers. As far as
- they are concerned, they give equal conditions to both drivers, as least in
- the first 6 or 8 races.
- Then, if one of them has done better than the other AND has a chance of
- winning the championship, he is #1 for that year.
