  22. McLaren usually do NOT give guaranteed #1 status for any drivers. As far as 
  23. they are concerned, they give equal conditions to both drivers, as least in 
  24. the first 6 or 8 races. 
  25. Then, if one of them has done better than the other AND has a chance of 
  26. winning the championship, he is #1 for that year.
