- -I'm looking for information regarding the racing history of
- Lola T70's for the 1965 - 1971 period. Now I need some help with T70' in
- Australia and New Zealand.
-
- The following is what I have yet found:
-
- May 21, 1967: 11th Australian Tourist Trophy, Surfers Paradise.
-
- John Scott-Davies Lola-Chevrolet T70 Mk II G7.
- The car dns (did not start) as it was found to have a
- cracked cylinder block. I believe Englishman
- Scott-Davies lived in Australia at the time.
- Any additional information regarding this entry,
- such as colour of car, race #, chassis #, entrant,...
- appreciated.
-
- Sep 3, 1967: Rothmans 12-hour International, Surfers Paradise.
-
- Paul Hawkins and Jack Epstein took 2nd place with Epsteins 1967 Lola-
- Chevrolet T70 Mk III GT. This car was of course based in England and
- brought to Australia for the event.
-
- John Scott-Davies and Johnny Harvey 4.8 litres? Lola-Chevrolet T70 Mk II G7.
- Dns as it dropped a valve twice during practice. Did it really have
- such a small capacity engine?
- Any additional information regarding this entry,
- such as colour of car, race #, chassis #, entrant,...
- appreciated.
-
- Sep 1, 1968: Rothmans Six Hours, Surfers Paradise.
-
- Don O'Sullivan 4.7 litres Lola-Ford T70, dnf; spun in oil on track.
- Who was (is) O'Sullivan, what type of T70 was it, who was the owner
- and what colour was it? ANY information appreciated.
-
-
- I have read somewhere that Hawkins before/after the 1967 12 Hours took
- part in three other races in Australia/New Zealand. Is this correct,
- and if so what races where they?
-
- What happened to the Scott-Davies car? Did he leave it in Australia when
- he moved to England again? If so who where the owners/drivers?
-
- And what about the O'Sullivan car?
-
- Where there any cars in New Zealand?
-
- I am interested in contemporary reports, event programmes, articles on the
- cars and copies of pictures. Of course I am prepared to cover your eventual
- expenses.
-
- THANKS IN ADVANCE!
-
-
- Please reply by email to ahe@cadcam.kth.se as I may miss posted
- responses to this request. I'll summarise the results in a later posting.
