- Well, I've come to the decision that tool atendants should not be trifled
- with. :) Let me explain that a bit.
-
- I was riding down the Tachonic Pkwy (Just about the most fun road I've
- driven in New York State) with a friend who speeds like crazy. On this
- particular trip we'd hit 110. Anyway, we pulled into the tollbooth, and we
- decided that I should pay, through the sunroof. The attendant asked if his
- window was broken and I just laughed and said that my friend didn't like to
- pay. Since the Tachonic is a bit on the playful side (his major speeding
- was (for you NYers) on Rt. 90 towards the Tachonic) he was cruising at
- about 80. Within 5 miles, his radar detector blurped, and within another 5
- we were sitting on the side of the road talking to a state trooper.
-
- The ticket notwithstanding, I'm fairly certain that the attendant radioed
- over to the trooper with a description of my friend's car. I drive that
- road quite a bit, and that wasn't a "speed trap"
-
- I make it a habit to be polite, but not eccentric, at tolls since then.
-
- BTW, My friend never did have to pay the ticket :)
