- I have read this newsgroup for some time, and I see there are some
- different opinions about having lights turned on when driving. Therefor, I
- will mention how things are in Norway. Norway is a small country at the top
- of Europe. I guess you know where it is. If not, you will know it in about a
- year, when we arrange the olympic winter-games '94. Well, the point is that
- in the wintertime it is quite dark up here. In the summer it's hot and
- people goes around wearing almost nothing. (Maybe some of you think this is
- bullshit, but it's true !) Anyway, as all people around the world also
- Norwegians forget to turn on the drivinglights when it becomes dark in the
- evening. Therefore, the goverment in Norway say that everyone has to use
- drivinglights all day and night. If you're not, you must pay for it (if you
- get caught by uncle police...) A couple of year ago, the law said that you
- had to turn the lights on when it becomes dark.
- In my (and many others) opinion, driving with the lights on all day
- and night, summer and winter is the best solution. It helps a lot if you
- for example meet a car, and you have the sun right into your eyes, and as
- usual, a very dirty and scratched front-screen. I guess you know how it's
- like. The same rules are in practise in Sweden and a lot of other North-
- European contries. I don't know how things are in USA, but I guess there are
- different rules in different states.
- In this newsgroup I have also read about people complaining about
- using the parkinglights, foglamps in the front and foglights in the REAR!!
- Also people sliding into the motorway in 50 km/h, and turns right into the
- left lane, and (specially old) people driving in 60 km/h in a 80 or 90 km/h
- sone, and no possibilyties to pass them. We have exactly the same problems
- here in Norway. There are so many IDIOTS on the roads, they should newer
- have had a driving licence! I guess a lot of you agree with me.
- I hope some of you, specially outside USA replies on this and tells
- us how people drive in your country.
