- Yep, I'm sure you must have had a Monte Carlo, because that's the one
- that had the three carb setup. I had a red '65 that I owned for about
- a year. They're not practical for those that don't want to tinker with
- their cars. There was always something piddling going out, not to
- mention the transmissions, which are the nemesis of SAABs. Mine crapped
- out a short time after I bought it, but luckily the shop I bought it
- from made good on it and rebuilt it again.
-
- The shop owner says in the last few years that parts are drying up pretty
- bad on the two-strokers. Even parts for the V-4s ('68 - '73) are becoming
- hard to get. I'm sure Paul could feel you in on the current status of
- things and might be able to provide you with some leads. He always has
- a few model 95s and 96s in his storage shed. His shop is the SAAB Factory,
- and his number is 408-241-SAAB. (Clever, eh.)
-
- As far as paint colors are concerned, I don't think the respondent was
- correct that mentioned that only one color per year was offered.
-
- From one SAABophile to another, good luck....
