Well actually, Metal Dolby C perrecorded tapes were available several years
ago, before Telarc began their own tape production. They were made from
Telarc's masters by Nakamichi on their high-end home decks. These were actuallyrecorded real time (not the super high speed duplication used for all mass
market tapes produced today).
For people without access to CDs, these are (were) the next best thing. :)
Unfortunately, Telarc started their own tape production several years ago,
and consequently no longer gives (licenses) access to the masters.
