-
- Well consider or not. Take a look at Receiver JVC RX-1050 (rather
- expensive though but could be interesting when comparing features):
-
- A = Analog I/O, D = Digital I/O, O = Optical interface, C = Coaxial
- interface, x = has, - = has NOT
-
- Input Output
- Source Audio (D) Audio (A) Video Audio (A) Video Audio (D)
-
- VCR1 - x x x x -
- VCR2 - x x x x -
- VDP O x x - - -
- TV - - - - x -
-
- CD O x - - - -
- DAT C x - x - C (only if
- input is Digital)
- TAPE1 - x - x - -
- TAPE2 - x - x - -
-
- TAPE2 has ordinary "tape monitor function". TAPE1 has "tape monitor"
- but can not monitor source from TAPE2.
-
- When selecting a source (excluding tape2) the corresponding output
- will be mute (to avoid looping sound). Example when selecting VCR2 all
- other output excluding VCR2 will be provided with signal.
-
- Digital output (to DAT) will only have signal if you have a digital
- input => No internal A/D that provide signal to digital output exists.
-
- Internal D/A exists (JVC PEM VANS D/A)
-
- ( VANS = Victor Audio Noise Shaper ( I guess))
- ( PEM = Puls Edge Modulator)
-
- All video I/O has ordinary composite signal (PAL or NTSC depending on
- country) connection (RCA) or S-VHS interface but there exists no
- conversion between the two formats. It is suitable when connecting two
- VCR and one LD (VDP input).
-
- It has 5 Power amplifiers, Dolby Prologic with digital processing and
- a Digital Acoustic Processor (DAP) with 6 (SYMPONY, PAVILLION,
- STADIUM, CLUB, CHURCH and OPERA) different sound pattern where you can
- modify DAP level, room size, liveness and wall type.
-
- SEA (Sound Effect Amplifier) EQ with 7 bands. 5 preset curve forms
- (HEAVY, CLEAR, SOFT, MOVIE and VOCAL) and 5 memory to store your own
- curve.
-
- It has a sleep timer and switchable power outlet + 40 memories for FM
- or AM radio. Each input is provided with 3 memories of you presetting
- (like Volume, Prologic parameters, SEA, DAP, Loudness and so on)
-
- Also provided is a huge programmable remote control where you can
- store your remote codes from TV, TAPE1, TAPE2, VCR1, VCR2, VDP, CD (or
- CD charger), DAT and an EXTra (like cable decoders)
-
- Drawbacks:
-
- 1.) The lowest level of the volume level is too high. To listen to
- soft music when goto sleep is difficult. The level should be down 10
- to 20 dB more.
-
- 2.) The remote control is hard to operate in darkness even though it
- has built in light.
-
- 3.) The SEA EQ operates only on the main Left and Right Channel.
-
- 4.) It becomes rather hot. => Not recommended to have anything on its
- top.
-
- Value for the money? I don't know. It's your choise.
