- I, also, would like to collect my own Aust. native fish. Can you tell me what
- fish you have been able to find in your area and how you caught them (dip-net,
- trap, etc.).
- Are there any of the local (Melb.) fish that you are prohibited to take? (This
- last question is directed to anyone aware of restrictions on taking Aust.
- native fish.)

-
- I was interested in your comments that you were "very *ANTI* native fish
- trading". Are you saying that you would prefer that anyone wanting a particular
- fish species should take it from the natural habitat in preference to buying it
- from a breeder.
- This may be fine for the more prolific species but for other
- less abundant species, I would prefer to see dedicated breeders keeping the
- stocks available to the likes of us aquarium people rather than continually
- reducing the numbers in their habitat. (Just my view!)
