  16. The Los Angeles population base is much greater than that of the SF Bay
  17. Area (SF itself is a relatively small city).  However, the level of
  18. enthusiasm of the So. Cal. hobbysists is much lower and there is no
  19. major general purpose aquarist society.  There is a large and active
  20. herp group, there is a small but active killie group, there is a
  21. relatively well-establisehd ACA affiliate, but no general aquarium
  22. society whic caters to a wide spectrum of interests.

  24. I have no idea why this area was blessed with such a strong interest
  25. and support of the hobby.
