- Yes, there are two types of silicone on the market. One of them is
- ammonia based and one is acetic acid based. Use the acetic acid
- based one. The ammonia in the other one will invariably kill your fish.
- Acetic acid (vinegar) tends to smell very strong, so, seal the tank in a well
- ventilated area. Also, make sure that the smell of the acid is gone before
- you fill the tank. This assures that the silicone has cured enough to hold
- the weight of the water you are going to put in the tank.
