- Pekoltia, Plecostomas, and Hypostomus are all members of the Loricaradae
- family of catfish. Pekoltia and Hypostamus are distinct genus; I can never
- figure out if Plecostamus is a genus or the species H. plecostamus. In
- any case, they all get called plecos as common names. Pekoltia are smaller
- than Hypostamus, and I've seen them as "clown pleco"'s in some local
- places. No clue on ancestrus. Also no clue on how to spell any of the
- above correctly!
