- In a way I am amazed anyone would want to play antique
- records on an old record player unless they wanted to
- wear out the records. As far as I know, if one has a
- professional turntable, 25 mil used to be the needle size
- for old style records. There is a process used by broadcasters
- which restores the sound of the ancient recordings as much as
- possible recently written up in RADIO WORLD. Part of the
- restoration has to do with using a needle which is supposed
- to play on parts of the record never before exposed to a needle.
