  14. My wife and I are selling our recently inherited Lauter Upright Grand piano.
  15. Here are the details:

  17.     - Lauter Upright Grand Piano
  18.     - 52" tall
  19.     - string speaking length: ~48" (as near as I can tell without
  20.       measuring)
  21.     - mahogany cabinetry
  22.     - all wood action, ivory keys (you won't find this anymore)
  23.     - Queen Anne stool (old-fashioned, probably an antique--lovely)
  24.  
  25. I was told that this piano was built it 1904. We've had the cabinetry worked on
  26. (refinished), and the keys polished (ivory yellows over time, buffing helps
  27. restore them to their original luster). In addition, the action has been worked
  28. on. Everything is in working order. The soundboard and pin-block are fully
  29. intact. The piano has been rough tuned up to pitch (A=440). All pedals, etc.,
  30. are fully functional. There are two things that need to be done to the piano:
  31.  
  32.     1. the action needs to be tightened up: the keys knock somewhat, and
  33.     2. although the piano has been tuned, it will need to be tuned again
  34.        after it is moved.
  35.  
  36. Other than those two things, it is a very playable instrument. We are selling
  37. it because we just don't have the room for it right now. It's in our first
  38. floor living room and really doesn't fit in with our modern decor. If we
  39. could've gotten it up to the second floor we would've opted to keep it.
  40. We've put quite a bit of money into and are willing to let it go at cost.

  44.     As of this price decrease we are losing money on the cost of the
  45.     restoration. Hence, we cannot lower the price any further.
