  25. The consensus here looks like (IMO) these groups
  26.  refer to things which are done outdoors (usually),
  27.  but not done BECAUSE they are outdoors.  Hence,
  28.  they don't belong in the .outdoors hierarchy.

  34. rec.hunting certainly would fit in .outdoors, esp
  35.  if its own moderator approves of the move.  I think
  36.  rec.backcountry would fit there too, but they don't
  37.  seem interested in moving.  If r.backcountry ever
  38.  decides to split, it should move to .outdoors at
  39.  that time.  IMO, of course.

  42.  in r.backcountry?  This could be a big flamewar if
  43.  you don't work things out with the backcountry crowd.
