- I *was* wrong about Au Bon Pain, half-way. According to yesterday's
- Herald they are a regional chain with stores in 20 states. I don't
- remember the exact count because I was reading the Herald that was
- spread out along the subway floor and I didn't want to touch it except
- with my sneakers.
- I stop at the mall sometimes to eat at the Japanese place. You get
- a huge pile of white rice and stir-fried veggies for something like
- $2.75, one of the highest volume-to-price ratios around, and it's not
- that bad.
- Finally, Central Square *had* a White Castle. The
- distinctively-shaped building is still perched in the intersection of
- River Western and Pleasant streets, near the police office. The
- building was sold to a macrobiotic outfit for a while, and is now a
- place where you can get THE best falafel and grape leaves sandwiches
- in Cambridge, Moody's Falafel Palace (non-veggie grape leaves,
- unfortunately) for a VERY reasonable price.
