- We are looking for delicious knishes, does anyone have any leads in
- the Boston area? Looking for take-out, preferably appetizer size.
- Kasha (buckwheat groats) knishes are our favorites, but we won't turn
- away a good potato or meat knish.
-
- A knish, for the uninitiated, is an East European/Jewish savory pastry.
- The pastry is a cross between an egg-roll wrapper and pie-crust,
- although I've had some as rich as puff pastry. For some stupid reason
- they are often colored yellow.
-
- Some of the best knishes, at least from the filling stand-point, are in
- that Jewish Deli in Vernon Connecticut - which is a bit far to go on a
- weekday evening.
