  41. No, you must have misunderstood.  When they say, "government should stay
  42. out of the personal lives of men," they really mean _men_.  This is not
  43. to be confused with the "men" in "all men are created equal," which
  44. meant "white men."  Nor should you mistake that for the "men" in "the
  45. best-laid plans of mice and men," which means, of course, "men and
  46. women."  Got that?
