- I am pregnant with my first, asthmatic, and am allergic to cats. We do, however,
- have two cats, and we were all able to cohabitate quite well after my
- body "adjusted" to them. They no longer make me sneeze, wheeze, etc.
-
- Well, as an asthmatic, my chances of having an asthmatic child are really
- great. I am concerned as to whether or not the baby will be allergic.
- I am planning on breastfeeding (I have read that it is a great way to
- keep a baby of an asthmatic from developing food allergies if done
- during the first six months), but will I also pass on my tolerance
- of the cats to the baby? Does anyone have specific experience with this?
-
- I'm almost afraid to ask the people on rec.pets.cats! They might tell
- me to keep the cats and get rid of the kid!! :)
