- OK, you've got a nice, almost-sterile tub and what do you fill it
- with? The same non-sterile tap water you get at home. I would also
- reiterate my point about the types of bacteria invovled and your
- relative resistance to them. I would also point out the the tub in the
- L&D room may indeed have been thouroughly scrubbed after its last use,
- but how long ago was that? There are lots of bacteria floating around
- in hospitals; who knows what has settled into the tub since it was
- cleaned? I still maintain that assuming a reasonable level of home
- sanitation, the hospital tub is no safer for a woman with ruptured
- membranes than a home tub is. (Note the conditional phrase; if you
- only clean your home tub twice a year, that's another story.)
