  12. this isn't a technical answer, either, but I do think that as the baby
  13. gets older and stronger that they can drink it down more quickly.

  15. Katherine never nursed for more than 5-10 minutes a side, and was
  16. something like 90th percentile all infancy. Her nursing did space out
  17. (and get closer together again during growth spurts) and she ate
  18. solids, but not in great quantity until she was a toddler. The amount
  19. of time we spent during a nursing session didn't seem to increase
  20. except during those growing spurts.

  22. Robin, on the other hand, is a boy in about the 90th percentile, and
  23. he took to eating solids very well around 7 months or something. He
  24. eats 3-4 meals a day, and nurses 5-7 times a day - before bed, before
  25. naps (2 a day), and early in the morning, and once during the night.
  26. If I make sure to feed him well before bedtime, we've sometimes
  27. skipped the middle of the night feeding. But usually he's too busy to
  28. take much time to nurse, I'd guess we usually do 5 minutes a side.
