- In article <1993Jan22.174917.15377@unocal.com> stgprao@st.unocal.COM (Richard Ottolini) writes:
- But we all know of the Zoe Biares of the child care industry that find
- el-cheapo situations, but whine when something goes wrong-
- either financially or to the child.
-
- I wonder how many people who are criticizing Zoe Baird have actually
- tried to find in-home childcare? I did, and although I wanted to find
- someone who'd be legal, I couldn't. Everyone who responded to my ad
- was either an undocumented worker or a Social-Security recipient who
- wanted to be paid under the table.
-
- Now back to the original discussion: Yes, it is possible to find
- part-time work in computer engineering. It seems a lot easier to go
- from full-time to part-time at your existing job than to be hired as a
- part-timer; I have done both. Also, part-timers are often not taken
- seriously; I was laid off from a part-time job because the CEO (of a
- small company) didn't think that part-timers were committed enough to
- their jobs.
