  11. How about Lake Tahoe in the summer.  The water is warmer on the North side of
  12. the lake.  Our son Keith enjoyed playing near the water in the sand.  Also, 
  13. short day hikes are good.  Get a good backpack to carrier your son.  Our son
  14. enjoyed riding in the backpack and walking some.

  16. Yosemite would be another nice area.  You could get a tent cabin.  But get 
  17. used to your son being dirty and enjoying himself.  My son enjoys the campfires.

  19. It is surprising how quickly they grow up.  My son is 3 yrs old now.  Other 
  20. activities he enjoyed (and still enjoys) are the zoo (especially a kids petting
  21. zoo), Discovery Zone (lots of tunnels/balls, an indoor play area), Children's
  22. Discovery Museum (San Jose), Monterey Bay Aquarium, Marine World.  In general
  23. places where he could "run around" and see/touch many things.

  25. Enjoy your vacation.  Try not to do too much.  Have a lot of time just walking/
  26. exploring the beach, streams, animals, etc.
