  21. My son was also a thumb-sucker, and I didn't give it NEARLY as much thought
  22. and worry as his grandparents and aunts and uncles and teachers and just
  23. about everybody he came in contact with did, including store clerks ("hunny,
  24. does that thumby taste GOOD?  You're going to need braces!!") and strangers
  25. on the street.

  27. I guess I took the wuss way out.  When he was 5.5, he went out to Phoenix
  28. for five weeks to visit his dad and returned without the habit, narry a
  29. trace.  Even that callous on his thumb was gone.  I didn't ask, I don't CARE,
  30. he doesn't run screaming from butcher knives, so whatever they did out there
  31. they must have done right.
