- It sounds like some experiences with medical studens/interns are
- very good (see original post below). However, in my birthing
- class one woman told of how an entire CLASS ON TOUR was brought
- in to watch her deliver. She did not appreciate it. Also, at
- this hospital one does not sign a form giving permission for the
- students to be present. They will be present unless you
- specifically state otherwise. Another thing to watch for is
- students making their rounds with doctors. You could be put on
- display, unless of course you refuse, which it seems people don't
- think of doing until too late.
-
- It seems that if you have only 1 or 2 students to deal with, and
- are able to form a friendly relationship with from early in the
- labor, that they are more welcome. I think its very
- inconsiderate to bring an entire class on tour into a delivery.
-
- Personally, I don't want any medical students or nursing students
- present because I am a very private person to begin with and I
- work at the Medical School. But I can certainly see where they
- make a welcome addition under some circumstances.
