- My own experience is that people with families are often VERY
- dedicated to their jobs, in part as a result of their desire to guarantee
- security for their children. Often the benefits of this dedication more
- than make up for lost time during a child's illness. To assume anything
- less of the original poster is simply not fair. And I daresay that many
- managers would agree with what I'm saying.
