- When my daughter was 6 months, she nurses 4 times a day, approx 5
- minutes each side. That was when she just started solids...
-
- In my opinion, initially, it takes longer 'cos of the breasts need the
- frequent stimulation. Also, the baby's stomach is smaller, thus can
- take less milk. As the breasts get more efficient in milk production,
- and the baby's stomach is bigger, he gets more milk per unit time.

- p.s. Has anyone notice how they change their nursing habits as they
- get older? Mine went through several stages: at first she'd nurse
- anywhere and let me do anything (read, phone conversations, etc), then
- she doesn't let me do anything (no talking/reading/walking) at about
- 3-4 months; at around 6 months, she's so easily distracted I have
- to nurse her in a darkened room; now she nurses anywhere and likes me
- to talk to her...
