- Dear Prospective Employer,
-
- Having graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of
- Science in Computer Science, I am actively seeking a challanging position
- in computer programming. I am very flexible, hard-working, and I have a
- very strong desire to learn and increase my programming skills. I
- highly desire to demonstrate my technical abilities in a professional
- environment. I am enclosing my resume at the end of this brief letter.
-
-
- The majority of computer science classes I have attended required an
- extensive amount of programming. I have developed several medium to
- large scale applications for both school and an artificial intelligence
- research institute. For class, my major projects include programming a
- version of Macintosh's HyperCard on a Sun 3/60 and also a simulation of a
- hypothetical microarchitecture. For the A.I. duPont Institute's natural
- language processing lab, I researched theories behind augmentative
- communication and developed a program to both assist handicapped users
- in communicating and compare different methods of word prediction. As a
- result, I am proficient in both C and C++, along with object-oriented
- programming methods, and feel qualified to use these skills in a
- professional environment. Furthermore, through projects for my Artificial
- Intelligence and neural networks classes, I have also become proficient
- in the Lisp programming language.
-
-
- Personally, I am a hard working person who strives for a challenge.
- This is shown academically by the several graduate level classes I
- attended, and also by my large commitment in student theatre. I feel
- that my experience in theatre and restaurant management has made me an
- outgoing person who can communicate ideas effectively and can work
- efficiently in a group environment. I also have no reservations
- about relocating to the Chicago area.
-
- If you would like further information from me, feel free to use
- either my email account or my home number.
-
-
- Sincerely,
-
- Edward V. Willey
