  15. Computer Sciences Corporation has several immediate opening for intermediate 
  16. or senior level personnel in the Technical Systems Support Group at the 
  17. Technology Management Division in Sterling Heights, Michigan to support 
  18. Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) Technology.
  19.  
  20. The Technology Management Division of Computer Sciences Corporation in
  21. Sterling Heights (a remote Detroit Suburb) provides computers and system
  22. support to General Dynamics, Land Systems Division.  General Dynamics Land
  23. Systems Division designs and builds armoured vehicles for the U.S.
  24. Military, specifically the M1A1 and now the M1A2 tank.

  26. The environment includes Unix system; Sun Servers, 130 SPARC workstations, and 
  27. an Auspex Fileserver.  An extensive network connects these systems within 
  28. Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania.  An extensive software engineering department 
  29. within Land Systems is supported.

  32. The job description and required qualifications are as follows:

  34. Position:  Computer Systems Engineer 
  35.  
  36.         A thorough understanding of the theory and practice of CASE 
  37.         Technology is essential for this position.
  38.  
  39.         Responsibilites include consulting and supporting users in the area
  40.         of CASE Technology.  It is hoped that the candidate will take the
  41.         lead in introducing and supporting CASE Technology within CSC at
  42.         General Dynamics.
  43.  
  44.         Programming is done in C, C++ or Ada, depending on the department 
  45.         supported.  
  46.  
  47.         This position requires at least one year of experience with the Sun
  48.         Operating System.   Knowledge of the X-Window system, X-terminals,
  49.         OpenWindows, and shell programming is essential.  Knowledge of 
  50.         Software thru Pictures, Interleaf, CodeCenter, AutoPlan, Softool CCC,
  51.         AdaMAT, ObjectMaker, and Statement will be essential or helpful
  52.         depending on the position sought.

  55. Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  57.      o   Consult with the users to introduce CASE Technology into the
  58.          software development procedure.
  59.      o   Write scripts and programs to automate processes and increase
  60.          productivity
  61.      o   Solve the users' problems and educate the users
  62.      o   Document procedures
  63.      o   Provide the lead for CASE Technology within CSC at General Dynamics

  67. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  68.  
  69.      o   U.S. Citizenship is required.
  70.  
  71.      o   Knowledge of Computer Aided Software Engineering tools and 
  72.          procedures.
  73.  
  74.      o   Knowledge of UNIX, shell programming, X-windows, and OpenWindows.
  75.  
  76.      o   Good interpersonal skills enabling interaction with customers and
  77.          technical staff of various skill levels.

  79.      o   Good problem solving and deductive reasoning skills.
  80.  
  81.      o   The ability to effectively communicate, throught oral and written
  82.          skills.

  84.      o   The ability to work independently, in a team, formulate procedures,
  85.          and manage priorities with assigned responsibilities.

  87.      o   A B.S./B.A. in Computer Science or associated discipline is
  88.          required.

  90.      o   Able to work in a challenging and dynamic environment.

  97.     o   As of January 1st, 1991 Computer Science Corporation instituted a
  98.         company wide pre-employment drug testing policy.  Any job candidate
