  17. A start-up electronics design company is in need of a qualified technical
  18. writing contractor. The ideal candidate will have a mimimum of three years
  19. writing experience in the CAE/CAD field. An understanding of electronic
  20. design, place and route in particular, is a must. You are not expected to
  21. be a circuit designer, but you must understand how circuits work. 
  22.  
  23. An understanding of UNIX is also a must. 
  24.  
  25. The project(s) involves:
  26.     - hands-on usage of the company's proprietary GUI
  27.     - interviewing design engineers to understand functionality and use
  28.     - running test cases for screen captures (the test cases themselves
  29.       may be furnished by myself or design engineers)
  30.     - writing chapter(s) for use in the company's User Guide
  31.  
  32. The product to be documented is one part of a large software package. Your
  33. part is used to partition large chip designs (i.e., >500K gates) into 
  34. smaller, manageable blocks. These blocks can then be processed individually.
  35.  
  36. Documentation is to be performed using FrameMaker 3.0 on a Sun
  37. SPARCstation. The OS is X11. Using FrameMaker on a Mac may be considered.

  39. The company in question is located on the Mt. View/Sunnyvale border.
  40.  
  41. The duration of the contract should be a minimum of two months. 
  42.  
  43. The particulars regarding rate and project responsibilities are to be worked
  44. out by the contractor and the company. 
  45.  
  46. I am a contractor who has been with the company for three months. I get 
  47. no finder fee for locating candidates. It is just that this seems like a
  48. good opportunity and there is much that needs to be done.
