- Is there a substantive difference here? If you agree that there is a problem
- then I urge you to become part of the solution, by writing to the President and
- Congress, telling them what you want them to do about it, and demanding an
- answer. If enough of us complain, we'll get action; otherwise, we'll get more
- of business as usual.

- It forces long term interest rates higher. Mortgage rates are higher
- than they could be. This is keeping a lid on the housing industry,
- slowing the rebound from recession.

- competitive because they pay more for long term borrowing.

- It diverts a huge amount of taxes to debt service. And it is going to
- cause your taxes to go up this year.
