  22. Mr. Charles Allmon going to be in any position to make good on his bet?  If  
  23. South American hyperinflation occurs, what's the $10,000 going to be worth,  
  24. even if he can pay?  Who would want to bet that they are going to die a  
  25. horrible economic death, especially when we can take action now to avoid it?

  27. Like it or not, we are all betting our jobs, our savings, our children's  
  28. futures, and our country's future that the apocalypse will not happen.  It is  
  29. up to our elected political leaders to make the right decisions to prevent it  
  30. from happening.

  33. That's why it is crucial that you write to your Congressperson, your Senators,  
  34. the President, and other prominent politicians, urging them to take bold action  
  35. now.  That's why you should support organizations such as The Concord  
  36. Coalition, dedicated to fighting the deficit.

  38. As the Zoe Baird confirmation hearings demonstrate, politicians can be very  
  39. responsive to the will of the people.  Thousands of angry phone calls and  
  40. letters are very persuasive.
