-
- The $10,000 bet you propose is ridiculous. If a financial collapse happens, is
- Mr. Charles Allmon going to be in any position to make good on his bet? If
- South American hyperinflation occurs, what's the $10,000 going to be worth,
- even if he can pay? Who would want to bet that they are going to die a
- horrible economic death, especially when we can take action now to avoid it?
-
- Like it or not, we are all betting our jobs, our savings, our children's
- futures, and our country's future that the apocalypse will not happen. It is
- up to our elected political leaders to make the right decisions to prevent it
- from happening.
-
- Do you trust your elected officials to do the right thing? I didn't think so.
- That's why it is crucial that you write to your Congressperson, your Senators,
- the President, and other prominent politicians, urging them to take bold action
- now. That's why you should support organizations such as The Concord
- Coalition, dedicated to fighting the deficit.
-
- As the Zoe Baird confirmation hearings demonstrate, politicians can be very
- responsive to the will of the people. Thousands of angry phone calls and
- letters are very persuasive.
