- Have you done this recently? Did it work properly?
- How long did it take? Were there any problems?
- Would one be allowed to enter a SELL order the same day
- as ordering the transfer?

- I ask these questions because about 10 years ago, I transferred
- an account from one broker to another, and it seemed to take forever.
- One of the problems was that the account had a short put position,
- with cash to back it, and the old broker transferred the cash to the
- new broker and then called both the new broker and me to complain that
- the account had generated a margin call. I told him, "of course it did,
- after YOU transferred out the cash without transferring out the short put
- position."
