- Well, if the fund operates the way you describe, why do
- expect it to ever reach your purchase price ;-)? It's a
- sure way to lose even more...
-
- On the other hand, the highest Sept 92 NAV for this
- fund was $15.16 (9/14/92) compared to $14.66 yesterday which
- represents a loss of 2.36% of your investment. Hardly a
- significant loss for a fund held for 4 months, although
- its decline since 12/21/92 (-5.72%) may cause some concern.
- It's also true that the SP-500 has gained 1.90% in the same period
- (9/14/92 - 1/20/93), but over time, the fund performs
- better than this index (total ret. 75% since 1/1/89 vs.
- 56 % (SP not adjusted for dividends)). In fact, it is
- very similar to Vanguard's Index Trust-500.
-
- In a word, you may be worrying too much.
