- Almost all lat machines top out at 300 lbs, many powerlifters (myself included)
- will do a few sets with the pin under the full rack as a morale booster at
- the end of the workout.
-
- I saw Clark lift at last year's APF championships, he's strong but there are
- several more impressive lifters around. His 1025 squat was miles high and,
- I believe, retroactively disqualified as a record. His reverse-grip bench
- allows him to touch the bar on his belly, considerably higher than his pecs
- or rib cage. With his short limbs and thick thighs, his dead lifts are less
- than many lighter lifters (including me) can do.
-
- The most impressive lifter at the APF champs was Scott Warman, as a light
- 275 lb lifter (~260 lbs) he squatted >950 lbs, benched >510 lbs and deadlifted
- >840 lbs, with all of these lifts being very clean and impressive. He would
- undoubtedly beat Clark in the total under strict judging.
- Of course APF meets are not tested for
- drugs; there are excellent lifters in the drug tested world, also. Last October
- I saw Vic Kennedy make an excellent squat of 944 lbs in an ADFPA meet at
- superheavy. He may be a better squatter than Clark, Clark may never have hit
- a legal depth with >944.
