- I have had pretty good luck following advice in Rob Thallon's and
- Charlie Wing's books on site built windows and skylights. I've never
- had leaks and this includes a pair of site built skylights that have had
- up to 30" of rain in a month. Two conventions I use are: 1. Glass to
- wood contact should be avoided so use glazing tape on both sides. 2.
- Caulk over the glazing tape on the outside with a compatible caulk. I
- use a product called Silglaze (Dow or GE) that I get from my local glass
- shop but only because it is guaranteed compatible with the outer seal
- on insulated units I buy there. You should really ask yourself. Please
- let me know if you need references for the two books. -virgil
