- When I was renting a house once, I had a somewhat similar problem.
- The lights would dim, and the TV would fade for several minutes.
- Turning electric burners on and off made everything dim or be slightly
- restored. The problem would come and go, sometimes not occurring for
- months.

- Finally it started happening a lot. It turned out there was a short
- in the meter. PG&E (this was near Santa Cruz) had to come out and fix
- it.
