- I disagree here-this assumes the sellers would do a good job. Get an inspector
- to tell you what needs fixing and then if it's major, get an estimate for
- how much it would take to fix it for the long term (as you are going to
- have to live with the repair), reduce the offer price by the repair cost. Or
- since many homeowners don't want the sale price to go down, get them to give
- you cash back from the sale.

- This might help you if they have not done extensive upgrades to the house.
- If they have upgraded, their cost basis will be higher. If they used
