  11. My name is Elizabeth Probert. I am writing on behalf of my HOD English,
  12. Terry Locke, at Pakuranga College, Auckland, New Zealand, who has just
  13. produced a text entitled Every Student's English Language Manual. The
  14. text currently exists in a New Zealand edition and is about to be
  15. produced in an Australian edition. The text aims to give students easy
  16. access to basic language terms and a language with which to talk about
  17. language. It covers such basic areas as diction, spelling, syntax,
  18. punctuation and parts of speech. It also looks at the language usage
  19. appropriate to such genres as the expository essay, reporting,
  20. persuasive language and such literary genres as the short story and
  21. poetry. The text is in A4 format, is easy to use, has been cheaply
  22. produced and is drilled in such a way that it fits simply at the front
  23. of a student's English folder. It is pitched for students from Forms 5-7
  24. (i.e. Grades 10-12). Teachers wishing to view a copy can write to Terry
  25. Locke, Pakuranga College, Pigeon Mountain Rd, Bucklands Beach, Auckland,
  26. New Zealand. To obtain a copy please send Aust $6.40 or US $5.70. This
  27. would allow for a copy to be sent air mail. Terry is certainly
  28. interested in the idea of an American edition. Anyone interested in
  29. helping Americanis(z!)e his English?
