Great stuff this E-mail. I guessing based on the time differences you noted, it took approximately 36 hours (including the date difference) for your message to reach me. I'm writing back immediately just so you can determine total turn around based on your local time. BTW it is 9:12 PM Wednesday, Jan. 27th. Which checks in at 8:13 A.M. EST on Wed. Jan. 27th.
I'll send a message to you via your compuserve address, hopefully tomorrow. I'm doing a HyperCard prep class after school and I'll let you know how it went.
I'll set up a BBS account for you, hopefully starting on Feb. 1st. For now I'll just make a password for you and later you can change it. Your internet address will be: Dick.McLeod@f921.n720.z6.fidonet.org
I'll also try to find out about getting you signed on to Compuserve here in Taiwan. Earlier in the year it was a major process but I've heard it has improved.
I'll check with the main Apple Taiwan center about the possiblity of getting a VideoSpigot. Originally I thought ours was to have come in by now but I know it hasn't. If Apple Taiwan can't come through, I'll check into the use of Bob Waltner's (one of our teachers) MAC II and perhaps you could bring your card. Give me a day or two to work on this.
It has been "cold" for Taiwan. Bring a few sweaters and the likes. The school is heated of course (although somewhat sporatically it seems) but many apartments, restaurants, etc. are not. A pair of warm comfortable slippers wouldn't hurt either. More in a day or two. Tsai Chien, Jeff
