Thanks for the messages. I'll share them both with my students in grade 5 and in grade 2. BTW - your answer to the riddle, a shadow was correct. I'm curious to know if it was easy or hard to solve. Yours already has me thinking. I'll share it with my students, but knowing kids, they will get it in short order.
Here is another riddle. The answer is a kind of fruit. In fact I had it with my lunch.
