- GH> Here's your philosophical question of the day. Based on George
- GH> Orwell's
- GH> novel, 1984, the question is "Does the past exist, or is it
- GH> a product of one's imagination?" Before saying anything,
- GH> consider that if a person is put in charge of writing down
- GH> the history, but he is constantly changing it, then it's a
- GH> product of one's imagination, but is that to say then no
- GH> past has ever existed. Did George Washington become our
- GH> first president, or was he simply put there to fill a void
- GH> that never existed. You don't know because you weren't
- GH> there, so do you take what is written down as being the
- GH> truth?
-
- I never thought of it that way? I guess the past could be
- considered as the product of one's imagination, but at the
- same time, is only one person in charge of writing these
- things down? Don't people of the present kind of gather
- information from different sources? Even if the past is
- only imagination-based, it doesn't change the present a
- bit because everyone believes in the same past so it doesn't
- really matter, I suppose.
-
- GH> Hey you never told me what you what to do with your life.
-
- Huh? You mean like, when I grow up what do I want to be?
- Well, I kind of want to a child psychatrist, but nothing
- definite yet. What is a copyright lawyer? Just a person
- who copyrights things legally? I apologize for my ignorance
- but I haven't a clue.
-
- GH> Later chubby (not that's not a fat remark) bunny.
-
- What is this, girly, chubby bunny? Don't tell me it's
- just one of those, normal, no offense intented remarks
- either. All I can say is you better watch yourself
- Galen........(Don't I sound so threatening?) :)
