I very definitely support the idea. The rainforests are the Earth's air-conditioners. We must take steps to reduce our use of timber particularly rainforest timber.
The westernised nations must stop putting undue pressure on the poorer nations of Asia, Africa and South America who supply the timber for minimal profit from dwindling stocks.
We must let the forests re-establish before it's too late.
By way of example, just look at the erosion and saline levels now in the Amazon basin.
The rainforest debate is quite a HOT issue here in Australia.
