The children that wrote you before are in a different class now. I will look up the messages and give them to them again. They can still write. I checked several times after Christmas to look for replies but did not find any. I only have one class of sixth grade this quarter. We have already started to work on hello messages.
After Christmas we had very cold weather. Several ice storms slowed us down. The weather this week is suppose to be very nice. The high today was around 50 degrees F. The low tonight should be around freezing. The average daily temperature this time of year is about 45 degrees F. We have had a very wet winter so far. Most of it has been rain. We can already tell our days are getting longer. The sunrise is about 7:15 am and the sunset is about 5:45. I will find the exact times.
Actually our winter has been mild so far. We have had only on very cold night around 10 degrees. Oklahoma is famous for its weather because we are in the middle of extreme clashes. We have tornadoes in the spring and some in the fall. The jet stream carries the cold air down from the north and the warm moist air from the Gulf of Mexico sometimes come together over Oklahoma creating violent weather. We have the most uptodate weather radar in the world based in Norman Oklahoma. About 20 miles from our
school.
Weather is always an important topic in Oklahoma. We are an agricultural state. Farmers depend on accurate forecasts. At the moment the tv staions are competing for the most up to date reports. They buy time on the NOAH radar system.
We always know to be very cautious in the evenings when we have very hot humid weather with a cold front coming down from the north. It usually means bad weather. Our weather usually moves from SW to NE during thunderstorm season.
I have some bulb type flowers in my yard that are peaking through so it should be an early spring. We are about 2 to three weeks from the bulb type flowers.
