- He didn't say that people currently earning a decent living should
- leave it. He just said that they should be satisfied even if they can
- not earn a decent living.

- Other than that, your argument makes no sense. Independent
- programmers have no more right to earn a living than, say, art
- photographers. I'm sure plenty of art photographers don't want a full
- time job other than photography. But except for a handful of lucky
- people, they all have to work on some other job for somebody else.
