  13.     I have used Epoch for some time, and I have been quite happy with it.
  14.     However, I decided I should take a look a Lucid Emacs since I had
  15.     heard good things about it and it seems to have more capabilities
  16.     and better integration with X (e.g. popup menus, menu bars, etc.).
  17.     The final point that convinced me was the section of the Lucid
  18.     posting:

  31.     The question of the menu bar arises pretty naturally from this point.
  32.     Should one be able to separate the menu bar from the screen also, 
  33.     in a style similar to Frame Maker(R)?? Or should one be able to 
  34.     "factor" it out attached to the minibuffer. I REALLY like the ability
  35.     to have several minimal screens each with a different file or 
  36.     different views of the same file.

  38.     If anyone could tell me how to separate the minibuffer in Lucid
  39.     Emacs, I'd be most grateful or if someone has a patch to allow this,
  40.     that would be great too. And you Epoch Developers what is the
  41.     merged version of Epoch and Lucid Emacs going to look like???
  42.     What sort of time span is the merger likely to take?? etc. etc.
