- The version of DECW$TRANSPORT_COMMON.EXE that gets installed with
- Motif apparently has a different minor ID number (%x0D rather than %0C
- I believe) than "vanilla" DECwindows, so DECwindows code linked on a
- Motif system won't work on an older DECwindows system, even if even the
- VMS versions are the same and no Motif features are used. Someone posted
- to one of the VMS newsgroups that it was possible to patch the image
- header of the program in question (ie, emacs.exe or whatever this one is
- called) so that it specifies the lower ID number. You should be able to
- accomplish that with PATCH/ABSOLUTE or the public domain VFE utility.
