- Hi, I'm an emacs beginner, and I'm just learning about
- window-management and shell interaction. I have
- lisp-dir and have checked the database, but could
- not find any reference to unix "talk" - is there any
- way to run unix talk from emacs, short of using
- terminal-emulation?
-
- Alternatively, can someone recommend a superior shell-
- mode that can emulate vt100? "dumb" doesn't let me
- clear screen or anything. If there is a good shell-
- mode, I can run multiple windows of it and run talk
- from there.
-
- I think I'm using emacs 18.56, both from a modem and
- from xterms.
-
- Also, I seem to be getting errors from archie.el, version
- 2.0 - I have the startup lines in my emacs.local, but
- when I ask archie to search for an exact match, it thinks
- for an instant and then says "Wrong type argument: stringp, nil"
- and nothing happens. Can someone clue me in as to what
- I am doing wrong?
-
- Thanks,
- Curt
