- here's an extension of that idea:

- sort and thread all subscribed newsgroups every day at midnight or
- whenever with a cron job, saving the article lists to a file. then
- when you read, simply read in the article lists and merge in articles
- that have arrived since midnight.

- voila. has anybody done this? any comments? does it sound like a
- good idea? any of the current maintainers thought of it?

- complex, interesting, normally very slow sorting to be done every
- night.)
