  13. hello,
  14. I have a small question to ask.  I recently (late last week) downloaded
  15. emacs version 18.59 from prep.  After getting it all compiled, I read the
  16. man page which seems to imply that there should have been a doc directory
  17. included in the downloaded version.  I downloaded the file twice, and both
  18. times I did not see a doc version either in the untarred format or in the
  19. compiled (using build-install) version.  Is there another file to be 
  20. downloaded for this part?  (I was looking for the sample file emacs.emacs)
  21. ( /usr/local/emacs/doc/emacs.emacs is where it is supposed to be according
  22. to the man page, yet there is no /usr/local/emacs/doc and /usr/local/emacs
  23. does exist).
  24. I tried to grep the entire emacs directory after untarring it and did not
  25. find any emacs.emacs file in there...
