- hello,
- I have a small question to ask. I recently (late last week) downloaded
- emacs version 18.59 from prep. After getting it all compiled, I read the
- man page which seems to imply that there should have been a doc directory
- included in the downloaded version. I downloaded the file twice, and both
- times I did not see a doc version either in the untarred format or in the
- compiled (using build-install) version. Is there another file to be
- downloaded for this part? (I was looking for the sample file emacs.emacs)
- ( /usr/local/emacs/doc/emacs.emacs is where it is supposed to be according
- to the man page, yet there is no /usr/local/emacs/doc and /usr/local/emacs
- does exist).
- I tried to grep the entire emacs directory after untarring it and did not
- find any emacs.emacs file in there...
-
- any pointers are appreciated, and thank you,
- David Hsu
